An e-mail listserver has been established with Yahoo Groups. This is a free service which allows any member of the group to send an e-mail to a single address and have it distributed automatically to all members of the group.
To subscribe to this service, click here and follow the instructions. The moderator may ask you to briefly introduce yourself. You can subscribe using the indicated e-mail addresses or directly on the Yahoo website and link your e-mail address with the aussies-abroad group. You can then look at old messages and download any files that have been uploaded.
The group is moderated, so you should not be molested by spam or nonsense e-mails. The promotion of members' commercial and professional interests through the mailing group is discouraged. The system serves as a forum which allows any member to share information that they think might be interesting to other Aussies, or to ask if any of the other members of the group can answer a question or offer advice. There is a great pool of members with a wide range of experience and interests, so this is an excellent medium for networking.
If you are not an Australian who is resident in Switzerland or contemplating moving to Switzerland, you may find the nature of the messages and discussions of little relevance to you. There are also other quite active chat groups for English speaking expatriates in Switzerland.
